Ann Marie Anderson has worked back and forth between Education and Human Resources for her entire career - educating all ages, from preschool to college and adult learners. Ann Marie has worked as a Human Resources specialist and director for organizations and has operated her own strategic recruitment/ communication and consultant practice. She has a Master's in Communication and Management from the College of St. Scholastica. 
 
Raised in Minnesota and now living the 2nd half of her life in Oregon, she has served the Central Oregon Schools community for the past 16 years as a local educator and consultant/board member for non-profit organizations.
 
Her role at the High Desert Education Service District is Human Resources Recruitment, Retention, and Substitute Specialist.  Ann Marie's motto is "Substitutes are Essential to Education," and therefore, she strives to serve her Substitute workforce of over 1000 substitutes with the best possible human-centered professional support and enthusiasm.
 
The HDESD serves ten regional school districts and over 3100 educators and provides Substitutes to 97 locations. Ann Marie has grown the Substitute pool in Central Oregon from 800 to 1000+ Substitutes in 2 years' time. The HDESD uses Red Rover as their placement software and currently has a 97% fill rate for their Licensed/Certified Teacher Substitute needs.
